This is not a joke: :unsure:71-year-old Etta James actually threatened to beat the crap out of Beyonce Knowles -- and it's caught all on tape!

The war is all over Etta's song, "At Last " -- Beyonce sang the tune at Obama's 1st Inauguration Ball on Jan. 20th ... but last week at a concert in Seattle, James was still pissed.

While on stage, Etta told the crowd, "Your President, the one with the big ears ... he had that woman singing my song. She gone get her ass whipped."

She continued, "The great Beyonce ... I can't stand Beyonce."

Ironically, Etta didn't kick up this sorta fuss when Beyoncé portrayed her in Cadillac Records.

Reps for Beyonce had no comment.

Old crazy heffa this is wt she said....

During the gig, she criticized the singer's performance at the inauguration. "You guys know your president, right? You know the one with the big ears?" began her rant, a recording of which was obtained by TMZ . "Wait a minute, he ain't my president. He might be yours; he ain't my president. But I tell you that woman he had singing for him, singing my song

Etta just wants some free publicity...She is too old for this type of non-sense.

The Obamas wanted Beyonce - and not Etta - there to sing and the song was most appropriate for the occassion.
It's interesting Etta didn't have anything to say when Beyonce portrayed her in Cadillac Records and was all hugged up with her on the red carpet at the movie's premiere....

Etta sit down please!! mad.gif

Singer disses Obama, Beyonce

Beyonce and James together at the Cadillac Records premiere.

(CNN) — The entertainment world may be in a swoon over Barack Obama, but one legendary soul singer is fuming at the new president and the pop star who serenaded the first couple on inauguration night.
Etta James, famous for her rendition of the song “At Last,” is apparently miffed that pop star Beyonce was tapped to perform the ballad as the president and first lady slow-danced during the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball on January 20.
“You guys know your president, right?” the singer asked an audience in Canada last week, according to audio posted on TMZ.com. “You know the one with big ears? Yeah, wait a minute. He ain’t my president.”
She then went after Beyonce: “That woman singing for him, singing my song? She’s gonna get her ass whipped.”

James added that she “can’t stand Beyonce” and that the starlet “has no business up there singing, singing up there on a big old President day, singing my song that I been singing forever.”
But is James flip-flopping on Beyonce? She did not raise an objection when the singer portrayed her in the film “Cadillac Records” — and just recently, James’s son told a New York paper that his mother was moved by the inauguration night performance.

She is 71 and she has right to say what she wants

She wanted to sing her own song at the inauguration.. and that's very understandable. Beyonce done started performing that song like it her song. Maybe they should have offered for her to sing it or let her sing it as a duet with Beyonce. laugh.gif
