Getting a Grammy doesn't really mean that much.... I mean that doesn't solidify that 1 artist is definately better than another..... remember When India Irie 1st appeared she was snubbed at the Grammys (more than once) like so many blacks B4 her, yet she was getting more album sales & more radio spins than all the other nominees .... Grammys are just like Oscars many people didn't get them who definately deserved them! I don't have anything against Amy & I dont know what lead Natalie to make those comments but while some say Natalie is washed up whatever, I know most of her music will get more respect in the black community(the Audience her music's aimed at) than Amy's ever will.. One of my employees played the Winehouse Cd and i was like "its pretty nice". Then a few Days later I went to my "100 black men of Tomorrow dinner" the actually played the CD there also A few people danced in their seats to it. But when the DJ put on "Natalie Cole's I'm Catching hell" a party of 300+ people got up and danced to it; and thats just it.... Amy will probably never make a song as bad as "IM catching hell" (by Natalie C.) cause nothing on Amy's Cd came even close to it. But for what its worth Congrats on the Grammy.

I had only made a comment due to the fact the way everyone's typing "She showed them other music Bi%^7S".... when they are not the ones bashing Amy!!! only the media does that .....(but still doesnt have a heaven or hell to put anyone in!) I also noticed no one asked why wasn't Chrissette Michelle nominated(whom im not to crazy about)! Chrisette and Amy vocal sound so much alike at times I would think she would be nominated for a few of the Same CAtegory as Amy!

Chrisette was nominated. Her musics dope, but she no where near Amy's level. They may sound the same but Amy is lightyears beyond Chrisette as a songwriter. And Natalie Cole and Amy can't be compared artist wise, Natalie obviously better because she been in this game for years. You gotta give Amy time. I think the reason why people are saying that they was happy for Amy is because of all the bad press she was getting for drugs, her looks, her teeth etc. All things that have nothing to do with her music.

As for your India Irie analogy she lost majority of her awards to Alicia Keys, it ain't like she lost to some wack chick. I can't say she got snubbed. They're both dope it couldve went eitheir way.

I missed the Grammy's, but other than I'm proud of Amy Winehouse. The first time I saw her video "I'm no good" I was like who is this singer she has a real unique sound and voice. I don't have her CD but I would love to have she has that soul vibe and jazzy feel in her music. I know the media is all up on her behavior and those drug habits of her, but I can care less all I care about is she making great music and if her CD is worth buying what these celebs do in their personal life is their business. To the person that quoted that quote on what Natalie Cole said about Amy, I can't believe Natalie said that. I remember from her movie that was written about her that Natalie Cole was on drugs and she still was singing songs so if she was able to do it then Amy can do it.


While we on it, I know Whitney Houston had her troubles and I heard she is supposed to be coming back with a good CD, I'm going to say this she to should be able to kick ass in the music industry since Amy pulled it off. What do you all think about that?
